The President of the Republic, Head of State, Head of Government, His Excellency Brice Clotaire OLIGUI NGUEMA, today granted two successive hearings to the former Prime Minister, Raymond NDONG SIMA, and then to a delegation of economic operators wishing to invest in Gabon in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
These meetings, which are part of the Head of State’s desire to promote dialogue, value experience and mobilize skills for national development, have focused on strengthening local agricultural production, the development of the poultry sector and the prospects for investment in these strategic sectors.
The first hearing, granted to former Prime Minister Raymond NDONG SIMA, reflects the commitment of the President of the Republic to maintain a constructive dialogue with those who have exercised high responsibilities in the service of the State.
For the Head of State, the experience gained by former government officials remains a wealth that can fuel reflection and accompany the country’s broad development directions.
In the course of their exchanges, the two personalities discussed, inter alia, the challenges related to food security, the enhancement of national agricultural potential and the need to gradually reduce Gabon’s dependence on food imports.
Particular attention has been paid to the agricultural sector, which is an opportunity for entrepreneurship and creating new jobs.
In this respect, the former Prime Minister stressed the importance of increasing the involvement of Gabonese youth in agriculture and livestock, two sectors offering real prospects for job integration and economic empowerment.
As a follow-up to these exchanges, the President of the Republic received a delegation from economic operators who expressed interest in investing in agricultural production and the development of poultry projects in Gabon.
The second hearing addressed prospects for strengthening national production capacities, particularly in the broiler sector, in order to better meet domestic market demand.
Through these two meetings, the Head of State reaffirms the importance he attaches to the diversification of the Gabonese economy, the promotion of productive investment and the creation of economic opportunities for the benefit of the population, especially young people.
The ambition is to make agriculture and livestock a real engine of growth, capable of contributing sustainably to the creation of wealth, the reduction of imports and the strengthening of Gabon’s food sovereignty.
These hearings thus reflect a two-pronged approach, capitalizing on the experience of former government servants and encouraging the engagement of investors in sectors essential to the economic and social transformation of the country.
